I'm Katie Mitchell, newborn and family photographer based in Longlevens, Gloucester. I've been photographing newborns since 2017 and I genuinely love what I do.
I'm a mum who's experienced the rollercoaster of fertility and pregnancy. So whatever your journey has looked like to get to this point, I'll make sure your photos do it justice.
My military background means I plan for every scenario. (So even if baby has other ideas on the day, I've got it covered.)
I only take on 6-8 newborn sessions each month, so I can give every family my full attention, from planning through to the finished artwork on your walls.

How can I book before my baby's born?
It's simple. When you reserve, you're preserving space around your due date, not a specific day. Once your baby arrives, just let me know and I'll book your session at the perfect time during those first two weeks. Whether your little one is early, late or right on schedule, I've got you covered.
What if my baby's early or late?
You've already reserved your space around your due date, not a fixed date on the calendar – so nothing changes if baby has other plans. Once they're here, just send me a quick message and I'll confirm your exact date from there, aiming for that ideal 5–14 day window. I only take a limited number of families each month, so reserving during pregnancy protects your slot either way.
If your baby's already here by the time we speak, don't panic – it isn't 'too late'. I'll simply adjust the style of your session, since babies naturally get more alert and awake as the weeks go on, and I'll talk you through exactly what to expect once I know how old they are.
What if my baby won't settle, or cries the whole time?
I don't need your baby to be asleep or perfectly curled up. Awake babies are completely normal – most sessions are a mix of awake and sleepy moments, and I've seen it all: unsettled babies, reflux, unexpected nappy explosions. I just work with whatever your baby gives me on the day.
My sessions are entirely baby-led and run 2–4 hours, so there's plenty of time for feeding, soothing and cuddles without anyone feeling rushed. I don't watch the clock. The studio itself helps too – it's kept at a toasty 26°C, with white noise and gentle vibrations built into my posing table, all designed to help even a fussy baby settle.
What if I don't feel 'photo ready' once baby's here?
That's completely normal – you'll have just had a baby, probably running on very little sleep. When your session comes around, I'll guide you through every single moment.

Can my partner and other children be included?
Absolutely! I believe these are some of the most important photographs you will own .
Partners and siblings are included at no additional cost.
We usually do family and sibling portraits at the start of the session while everyone is fresh and toddlers are more likely to cooperate.
How much will I actually spend?
Thanks to Your Baby Club, your session fee is waived. The minimum you can expect to spend is £299 – your £99 deposit is credited toward your collection on the day. Digital collections range from £299-£699. Your final investment depends on:

• The collection that suits your family best
I’ll guide you through all your options so you can choose what feels right for you.
Do you offer 'Bump to Baby' (Maternity + Newborn) bundles?
Yes. Many families choose to document their whole story from anticipation to arrival. If you book a maternity session, you receive £50 off your newborn session. I also ensure both sessions match perfectly in tone and style so they can be displayed together as a beautiful gallery wall in your home.
Do you offer a 'Baby’s First Year' or 'Watch Me Grow' plan?
My Legacy newborn collection is designed specifically for families who want to capture every milestone. This collection includes a free sitter session (saving you £100) and £50 towards a cake smash or birthday photoshoot. I also a Family Legacy package where you can keep the momentum going long after baby turns one.
How do you ensure my baby is safe during the session?
Safety is my absolute priority; I have 8+ years of hands-on experience and have completed multiple advanced newborn safety training courses.
I am also trained in paediatric first aid.
During the session, your baby is always supported by me or a parent, and certain complex poses are only ever created as "composites" (merging two photos) to ensure your baby is never at risk.
